ENSE 871: Usability Research & Engineering

This course is designed as the advanced counterpart to ENSE 271. Its primary focus is to help students grasp the significance of crafting technology user experiences that seamlessly blend functionality with enjoyment. Throughout the course, I will provide guidance to students engaged in either individual or group projects. These projects may encompass collaborations with local partners, exploration of concepts linked to students’ personal research or projects, or tackling challenges posed by me.

Furthermore, students will autonomously conduct a comprehensive survey of scholarly research and present their findings. This presentation will centre around the themes of people-centred design and usability engineering, encompassing areas such as user interfaces (UI), user experiences (UX), system and complexity design, as well as customer and service experiences (CX).
